The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a crucial medical examination in India that assesses the knowledge and competence of foreign medical graduates who wish to practice medicine in the country. This examination is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and is a mandatory requirement for foreign medical graduates before they can apply for a medical license to practice in India.

The FMGE exam consists  subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Ophthalmology, ENT, and Community Medicine as well as clinical branches like Medicine , Surgery and their subspecialities.  Each part of the exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions, making a total of 300 questions. It is a challenging test that requires a deep understanding of medical concepts and principles.

To be eligible for the FMGE exam, candidates must have completed their primary medical qualification (MBBS or its equivalent) from a recognized foreign university. They must also provide the necessary documents and proof of their medical education. Additionally, candidates should be aware of the eligibility criteria and application process, which may change from year to year.

The FMGE exam is usually conducted twice a year, in June and December, and candidates need to score a minimum of 50% marks to pass. Failing the FMGE exam means that candidates cannot practice medicine in India, making it a critical milestone in their medical careers.
